Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Stuffnearme collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect only what the site needs to work, we don't show ads, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address, a display name and your password (stored in scrambled, one-way form; nobody can read it, including us). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
• What you post: listings, their addresses and photos, and the listings you save or report. Listings and your display name are public. Saved listings and reports are private.
• Your search location: when you enter a ZIP code or use “Use my location,” we store that spot (rounded to about 30 feet) in a cookie on your device so the site remembers where to search. We don't keep a history of your locations.
• Sign-in cookies: small cookies that keep you signed in.
• Basic technical logs: our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and error reports) for security and troubleshooting.

Who helps us run the site

We share information only with the services that run Stuffnearme:

• Supabase stores accounts, listings and photos.
• Hostinger hosts the website and our email.
• OpenStreetMap turns addresses and ZIP codes into map locations and provides the map. We send the address or ZIP code only, never your name or email.
• Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Children

Stuffnearme isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete your listings and change your display name anytime from your dashboard.
• To delete your account and everything you've posted, email support@stuffnearme.org from the email address on your account.
• You can clear the location cookie by clearing your browser's cookies for stuffnearme.org.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll note it on the site.
